The water is cold year round, even when the sun is strong, but the scenery at Half Moon Bay State Beach is nothing short of stunning. Sunbathing, picnicking and fishing are some of the most popular activities at Half Moon Bay State Beach. The nearby Beach Trail stretches for ten miles and is a popular vein for Half Moon Bay hiking and biking.


Ano Nuevo State Reserve Rocky and windswept, Half Moon Bay's Ano Nuevo State Reserve is a wild and undeveloped breeding ground for the northern elephant seal.
